“المجلة” تنشر صوراً خاصة لماهر الأسد قبل هروبه إلى موسكو

ماهر الأسد، الابن الأصغر للرئيس السابق حافظ الأسد وشقيق الرئيس المخلوع بشار الأسد، كان أحد أعمدة النظام السابق، حيث قاد “الفرقة الرابعة” في الحرس الجمهوري وتولى مهام أمنية وعسكرية حساسة قبل هروبه إلى موسكو بعد سقوط النظام في 8 ديسمبر 2024.
خلال أكثر من عشرين عامًا من حكم شقيقه بشار، كان ماهر قليل الظهور في الإعلام، ولا تتجاوز صورته المتداولة العشرة، معظمها من جنازات أو مناسبات رسمية.
بعد سقوط النظام، تم العثور على مجموعة من صوره الشخصية في منزله الفخم في يعفور غرب دمشق، تشمل مسبحًا داخليًا وخارجيًا وصالة رياضية وملجأ تحت الأرض وأنفاق.

تظهر الصور ماهر في باريس وروما، يمارس هواياته مثل التزلج على الثلج والتصوير، ويمازح أصدقائه ويدخن النرجيلة، إلى جانب صور له مع زوجته منال في آثار تدمر.
وتعكس هذه الصور جانبًا مختلفًا عن سمعته المروعة المرتبطة بقمع الثورة السورية وتصنيعه وتهريبه للكبتاغون.

يواجه ماهر الأسد سلسلة عقوبات أميركية وأوروبية بسبب جرائم ضد الإنسانية وجرائم حرب، بما في ذلك الهجمات الكيماوية على المدنيين عام 2013، وتورطه في تجارة المخدرات، بالإضافة إلى دوره في قمع الثورة السورية منذ 2011.
وقد أُفيد أنه لجأ إلى العراق فور سقوط النظام، وظهرت له صور لاحقًا في موسكو.

كما يُعتقد أن ماهر متورط في قضايا اغتيالات وسجون، بما في ذلك وفاة اللواء علي محمود، مدير مكتبه، تحت ظروف غامضة في ديسمبر 2024، ومقتل سجناء في صيدنايا أثناء ثورة عام 2008، فضلاً عن تقارير الأمم المتحدة التي تربطه بمقتل رئيس الوزراء اللبناني رفيق الحريري عام 2005.
