The internet is a great place to make money. You can create passive income streams that will continue to generate revenue for you, even while you sleep! In this blog post, we will discuss 5 ways to do just that. We’ll talk about how to find the best opportunities online and what type of content works best when trying to attract customers. We’ll also go over some of the most popular passive income strategies today – from selling handmade goods on Etsy and publishing eBooks on Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing, all the way up to creating your own membership site or webinar business!
1 . Sell Your Own Digital Products
Creating your own digital product is one of the best ways to create a passive income stream. In order for people to buy from you, they need an easy way to access that information – which means it should be available online somewhere! You can do this through creating eBooks and selling them on Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing or by publishing articles as PDFs on Gumroad where customers can purchase directly from you with a credit card.
You could also sell paid workshops over Google Hangouts or make a membership site like Pat Flynn’s Smart Passive Income Academy . You might even want to teach courses at Udemy , Skillshare , CreativeLive , Teachable or Thinkific ! Once you have created your course, simply offer students lifetime access for a one-time fee.
As you are creating your course, be sure to use Google Drive or Dropbox so that students can access their materials anytime! If you want to expand beyond selling courses and workshops, check out Udemy’s Online Course Growth Hacking Guide . It goes through the best practices of growing an online course business on different platforms.
You could also sell digital products by simply publishing eBooks onto Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing where customers can purchase them with a credit card (no need to set up merchant accounts like PayPal!). You may consider using KDP Rocket , which is software that helps authors research what books will do well before they go live – it has helped many authors increase their income significantly! Another benefit of using Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing is that you can schedule your content to go live on a certain date and time (for example, my most recent eBook went live at 12:00AM EST).
You could also create paid webinars where participants pay for access with a credit card. This has been one of the best ways I’ve found online to sell digital products. You might think it’s impossible since there isn’t anything physical being sold, but if people like what they hear in the webinar they will be more likely to buy from you!
2 . Get Paid to Promote Affiliate Products
You can also generate passive income by promoting affiliate products. If you have a website, social media following or email list, then this is the perfect strategy for you! You simply need to place links or banners on your site that connect customers with different eCommerce storefronts like Amazon , Walmart , Gap and Target .
If you are unfamiliar with how affiliates work, basically they send people over to certain product pages where if someone buys anything within 24 hours of arriving at these sites, the publisher who brought them there gets a commission from it. It’s actually one of my favorite ways I’ve found online to make money since it doesn’t require too much overhead start up – all you really need is an audience. One of the best places I’ve found to do this is ShareASale .
Another great option for creating affiliate content without having an audience yourself is through VigLink. This platform allows you to insert links into your online content and it automatically turns those links into affiliate links depending on where they send people! If someone clicks a link from your website that takes them over to Amazon, then Viglink makes sure you get credit as if you were promoting that product all by yourself! In fact, many bloggers use VigLink in addition to their normal marketing efforts – just another way we can increase our passive income streams.
You could also promote products with Google AdSense , which displays relevant ads based on what site a person visits or even their search history. If you want to get really creative, I recommend checking out the Google Affiliate Network , which allows you to find affiliate partners in your niche and create ads that way!
You can also sell advertising space on your site or email list using networks like MediaVine . This is a great option if you have a smaller audience but still want additional revenue opportunities from them (you could even test different ad placements here before moving over to more expensive options). If an advertiser wants 100,000 impressions from someone with less than 50,000 followers they might not be able to afford it elsewhere – this is where platforms like Mediavine come into play!
3 . Create Courses & Certificates
One of the best ways to create passive income that I’ve found is by creating courses or certifications around an area of expertise. You can either do this through teaching on sites like Udemy in addition to your blog posts, YouTube videos and social media channels – just be sure you have a way for students to contact you so they are more likely to hire you afterwards! There are also great platforms out there specifically created for professional certification such as Brainbench .
Brainbench allows users with different levels of experience (novice, beginner, intermediate, etc.) take online tests based on their field in order to become certified within it. This usually requires paying a fee but could potentially lead into additional work from people within that industry who have seen your certification and want to hire you as a consultant.
This is also one of the most profitable online business models I’ve ever come across because it’s so scalable once you build up enough students on your course! One of my friends from college has been doing this full-time for several years now after quitting her job as an accountant – check out how she did it here .
You could even do something similar with apps like Skillshare which allow users to take courses through their platform but instead, give them the option to pay premium rates for more personalized support if they’d like (this would be another great way to get referrals) or create packages around different skill levels. This allows businesses seeking assistance in certain areas to come directly to you for help instead of competing with everyone else on the site.
Another option is Udemy which allows users to take courses around topics they are interested in – including your course! This means that people can just pay one fee and have access to your content along with others within their interest area without having to purchase them individually or subscribe monthly like other services. You just set a price point, create some promotional material (or use what you’ve already created!) and promote it as if it were any other product – easy peasy!
4 . Host Webinars
Another great way to build passive income online revolves around webinars. Whether you’re an expert in a certain field or just someone who is passionate about something, hosting your own live session with others interested in the topic is a fantastic idea! You can either do this through sites like GoToWebinar , Everwebinar and Webinar Jam Studio or create your own platform like IFTTT (If This Then That) which allows users to easily host their very own automated webinars without any experience at all.
I’ve personally used both of these services before as well as created my own using IF but there are lots of options out there depending on what skillsets you already possess and how much control over your webinar you’d like to have. There are also tools out there that allow users with little experience to easily create their own interactive webinars without any coding knowledge such as Webinar Ninja or Join.me .
Whichever way you choose, hosting your own live session is a great way to get the word out about what’s working within your industry while building up passive income at the same time! If people see the value in it and want more information after, they can sign-up for additional content directly through your site – no third party required (this usually means less fees overall which makes this business model even better!).
5 . Sell Courses
Okay, this is one of the most popular ways to build passive income online and also one of my personal favorites! Think about it… you create an amazing course filled with all kinds of useful information which means people are more likely to sign up for additional support or even pay premium rates if they’d like. You can either run your own platform through tools out there such as Teachable , Udemy (mentioned above) or Skillshare . If you’re looking for something a little less complex but still want complete control over formatting/courses offered, sites like LearnDash allow users to easily create their very own courses without having any prior knowledge at all! This way, not only will students be learning from your expertise directly but they’ll be able to sign up for additional support if they’d like as well.
As I mentioned above, this is one of my favorite ways to build passive income online because it’s super easy and allows you complete control over your content! You can start by creating free courses then move into the next level with premium ones or continue offering more affordable options depending on how much time/effort goes into each module – totally up to you! If people enjoy what you have to offer but need a little bit more help in certain areas, there are countless opportunities out there that allow them to purchase small chunks of information directly from experts such as yourself which means really high conversion rates overall.
All these strategies combined will not only help increase passive income at home but they’ll also help you build an even larger audience as well. There’s really no downside to trying these out and considering how many people are already making money online, it may be time for you too! Whether your interest is in fitness, travel or something more random like pet supplies (like me), there are ways of building passive income that work for everyone so don’t give up hope just yet!
The most important thing is that you’re doing something, even if it doesn’t feel like enough or the right fit – and don’t worry about what other people think! We all have different skillsets and passions, so there’s always room for growth in your business.
